What a Derby Day, in North London.

What a Derby Day, in North London.

I set three alarms this morning. All corresponding with each other. Couple bangers to get me up, followed by the soothing sound of Everlong with Dave Grohl’s beautiful voice. Acoustic version of course. It’s my morning jam.

My morning transcended into bliss, knowing it was a big derby day. The North London Derby, and The Merseyside Derby. Center stage, on the same day. Back to back. Are you kidding me? What a day for the Premier League, and fans of English Football.

The North London Derby, featuring Arsenal and Tottenham, was a goal scoring thriller. Within the first ten minutes, Jan Vertonghen produced the handball in the box. “Desperate Defending” but he knew what was up. Aubameyang stepped up like a G. Alas, 1-0.

The momentum shift for Tottenham was evident, and I applaud them for bouncing right back after the penalty. The counters came faster, hah, but it was incredible work in midfield by Lucas Torreira. He was my Man of The Match. His partnership in midfield with Grant Xhaka, can lead to great things in the future for Arsenal.

The better of chances fell to Tottenham opening the match, and they finally got a break through off shit goal keeping, or a great set piece. I can’t decide yet.

Heung-Min Son put on a show in today’s Derby  the a Tottenham winger destroyed the back three of Arsenal. He did it pretty regularly, too. Mustafi had no shot at times, as Bellerin was regularly caught upfield in the 3-4-3 formation for Arsenal. Son won the penalty, to set up the second for Harry Kane. 2-1 at the Half.

The start of the second half was when Unai Emery became Arsenal’s man. The Manager made the changes he saw necessary, to try and out more emphasis with creativity and depth with Ramsey going more central. Mkhitaryan was off after a solid day. A key addition was Lacazette for Iwobi, who had a fucking ROUGH first half in front of goal.

Arsenal laid the fucking hammer on Spurs, in the Second half. Ramsey with an assist to Auby, and Lacazette. Ramsey was exactly what Emery needed in the second half. The dominance of Lacazette going forward, caused mayhem in the back for Tottenham. The final sub Guendouzi, let Mustafi go off and lick his wounds in the day. Incredible substitution at the right time, made the difference for Arsenal today. Job well done by Emery. The immense passion shown by Torreira, shows you just how much it means to them.
