Spain Manager Lopetegui to join Real Madrid after the World Cup.

Real Madrid released an official announcement for the Spain boss today, saying he would take over after La Furia Roja's World Cup run. Coming off as a complete shock to most, not many people saw Lopetegui as a possible successor to Zizou.

Lopetegui has been apart of the Spain National Team since 2010, when he took over the U19 team. He has since progressed through Spanish U20 and U21 National team. He then headed to Portugal, taking over for FC Porto in the Primeira League, for two years between 2014-2016. Following his two seasons at FC Porto he took the helm of the Spanish National Team in 2016.

To take over for a departed manager, who won 3 Champions Leagues in 3 years, is a huge task for the chosen successor. After seeing all the possible links to Real Madrid, Lopetegui was the best choice, not many knew they had. To see what will happen to Real Madrid in the offseason, is going to be interesting.

The goal for Real Madrid this upcoming season, has to be to win La Liga. Depth will be needed to overthrow the Spanish Double Champions, FC Barcelona.  We got an interesting summer ahead of us.
