Tomorrow's Round of 16 match will be a doozy. Uruguay, the top team out of Group A, will take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal.
Let's be real; Thus far, Ronaldo IS Portugal. The Portuguese captain has scored 4 out of 5 goals for his side, several of which were game-winners. Most notable was his last-minute free kick goal in the first group stage match to gain 1 point in the standings against Spain.
The Real Madrid forward failed to score a point against Iran, which would have sealed Portugal's spot at the top of the group.
Uruguay, on the other hand, have had not been bothered so far in their tournament journey. The South Americans have yet to give up a goal this summer, even against a hardy Russian offense that scored a whopping 8 goals in its 2 previous matches against Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Expect Portugal's tactics to remain same as usual: get the ball to Cristiano. While it has worked against Spain and Morocco, this strategy was uninspiring against Iran, and Iran is no Uruguay. Uruguay look to stay defensively sound against the Portuguese, as forwards Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani find wholes in a vulnerable back line.
Prediction: Uruguay 1 Portugal 0
