Ernesto Alexis Vega- El Futuro

Chivas came into last nights game with fire. They had to redeem themselves against last weeks 3-3 draw against Necaxa where Chivas gave up a 90 minute golazo from Carlos Guzman.

Alexis Vega, The 21 year old who came from Toluca last year in December was in the starting lineup for his first Clasico Tapatio against Atlas.

Chivas started off to an admirable night when the 1st goal came in the 8th minute, when an intercepted pass from Carlos Cisneros set up Alexis Vega in open space outside the box and decided to chip the keeper to bag his first goal in 7 appearances. The crowd went into a frenzy, momentum was tilting to their side when the 2nd goal came in the 23rd minute when Isaac Brizuela set Alexis Vega up to the near post for a nice 1v1 against the keeper. The crowd kept the energy going throughout the game and went into hysteria when the

3rd goal came in the 61st minute, a beautiful team build up play that set up Brizuela to give Alexis Vega his 3rd goal of the night.

It was intense match, the ref handed out 5 yellow cards throughout the game. I was surprised we did not see fists fly or a red card. In any Clasico emotions run high. Raul Gudino kept a clean sheet as he held it down between the sticks

Alexis Vega got a standing ovation from the fans when he was subbed off in the 87th minute. It is said Tata Martino called Vega up to the Mexico National team training, Vega had to show Tata that he made the right decision

Chivas sit 4th on the table with 4 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, it is still early in the season but if Chivas continue to play like they did against Atlas, dile hola al campienato.
